There are two main venues: Unversity of Kaiserslautern and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI GmbH. The conference dinner will take place at Fruchthalle. Conference SecretariatThe conference secretariat will be located in the foyer in Building No. 42 on the university campus. It opens daily at 8 a.m. DFKI GmbHEvents: Workshops and Tutorials will be held at DFKI and/or the University of Kaiserslautern (locations will be announced on the workshop and tutorial sites). Registration and informal get together for workshop and tutorial participants on Monday, 22 September, 6 p.m. DFKI is located within ten minutes walking distance from the main conference venue in Building 42 on the university campus. University of KaiserslauternEvents: Technical Program, KI 2008 Exhibit. Workshops and Tutorials will be held at DFKI and/or the University of Kaiserslautern (locations will be announced on the workshop and tutorial sites). Reception on Tuesday, 23 September, 6 p.m. The main conference venue will be Building 42 (follow the signs “Audimax”) on the university campus. All lecture rooms are easily accessible from the foyer, where the poster session and the KI 2008 Exhibit will take place, and where coffee and snacks will be served during the breaks in the mornings and afternoons. On Tuesday, 23 September, the official KI 2008 reception will also be held at the foyer of Building 42. Lunch: The canteen is right across the venue. Lunch will be offered there from Tuesday to Friday from 12 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch is included in the registration fee; the vouchers will be distributed upon registration. Free parking is available. Address Links FruchthalleEvent: Conference Dinner On occasion of its 20th anniversary DFKI is looking forward to invite all conference participants to a conference dinner on Thursday, 25 September, in the Fruchthalle of the City of Kaiserslautern. The Fruchthalle is a historic site located in the heart of Kaiserslautern. It was built between 1843 and 1846 in Renaissance style, after the Palazzo Medici in Florence, and was originally used as a market hall. Admission will open at 5:30 p.m., the program will start at 6:30 p.m. A shuttle service will be offered from the conference venue where the technical program is scheduled to finish at 4:30 p.m. on that day to a location in downtown Kaiserslautern from where the hotels reserved by the Kaiserslautern Tourist Information and the Fruchthalle itself are easily accessible and within walking distance.
